LAUNCHING IN 2017

Anxiety Management Program and Depression Management Program for 8 to 19 yr olds and their parents
​
These new, innovative programs encourage parent and child to work together to not only understand their anxiety or depression on a personal level but also create a toolbox of strategies to help manage their symptoms on a daily basis.

Each program runs for one hour per week for 8 consecutive weeks and costs from $350.00

​

Programs Start Wednesday 10th May 2017

The ANXIETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM covers the following topics:

​

  • Week 1 - Understanding Anxiety

Understand the difference between anxiety and worry.  Identify YOUR physical and emotional symptoms.

  • Week 2 - Contributors to Anxiety​

Exploration of unhelpful thoughts, internal and external triggers, expectations and comparisons.

  • Week 3 - Anxiety Attacks & Panic Attacks

How to tell the difference between an anxiety attack and a panic attack.  Techniques to use during each type of attack.

  • Week 4 - Thought Awareness & Journaling

Identify YOUR internal dialogue and ways in which to challenge it.  How to keep a thought journal.

  • Week 5 - Positivity & Self Belief

How to create a sense of positivity and self belief.

  • Week 6 - Breathing, Meditation & Mindfulness

Learning different techniques and when to use them.

  • Week 7 - Goal Setting

The importance of having a purpose and how to set S.M.A.R.T. goals.

  • Week 8 - Recap & Review

A brief recap of all topics covered.  A chance for clarification and problem solving.

The DEPRESSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM covers the following topics:

  • Week 1 - Understanding Depression

What is depression?  How does it feel for YOU?

  • Week 2 - Contributors to Depression​

Exploration of unhelpful thoughts, expectations and comparisons.

  • Week 3 - Crisis Support

Identifying harmful thoughts and how to express them.  Debunking myths surrounding suicide and self harm.  Crisis Care Contacts.

  • Week 4 - Thought Awareness & Journaling Part 1

Introducing tools and strategies to help manage depression.

  • Week 5 - Thought Awareness & Journaling Part 2

Learn the art of self acceptance and self expression.

  • Week 6 - Positivity and Self Belief

How to create a sense of positivity and instill self belief.

  • Week 7 - Mindfulness Meditation

Learn the technique and how it can benefit you.

  • Week 8 - Goals, Purpose & Recap

The importance of goals and having a sense of purpose.

Programs are facilitated by Wendy Bennett who is a member of the Australian Counselling Association, is fully insured and has a current Police Check and Working With Children Check
